The HERTEL E1050014 is a double-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metal and similar materials. It features a 7/32-inch cutting diameter, a 2-flute spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle, and is constructed from M7 grade high speed steel. This centercutting tool allows plunge entry as well as conventional side milling. It is an uncoated, right-hand cut, right-hand flute end mill suited for use in manual mills and CNC machining centers. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this type of tool for slotting, profiling, and light contouring cuts in steel, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials.
This end mill is appropriate for job shops, maintenance machining, and production environments requiring a reliable HSS double-end tool in a smaller diameter range. The 3/8-inch shank diameter makes it compatible with standard collets and end mill holders found on knee mills, vertical machining centers, and similar setups. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between changes. It is well-suited for applications where carbide tooling is not required or where the added toughness of HSS is preferred over carbide in interrupted cuts or lower-speed operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use end mill for standard 3/8-inch collet chucks and end mill holders on vertical knee mills, CNC machining centers, and similar machine tool setups requiring a 7/32-inch diameter square end mill.
This end mill is installed and changed by machinists using appropriate collet wrenches and toolholders rated for the 3/8-inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating in the holder to confirm proper clamping. Follow shop safety procedures and applicable OSHA machining guidelines when operating milling equipment.
