The HERTEL E1043024 is a single-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. Built from M7 high speed steel, it features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle with three right-hand spiral flutes. The uncoated finish makes it well suited for applications where regrinding or reconditioning is part of the shop workflow. This tool is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled starting hole. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers and users of this tool.
This end mill is used in vertical milling machines, knee mills, and CNC machining centers for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard R8, ER, or side-lock toolholders of the same bore size. With a 2-1/2 inch overall length and no extended reach, it is best suited for shallow-to-mid-depth features where rigidity and chatter resistance are priorities. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration follows standard convention for the majority of vertical milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for vertical mills and CNC machining centers accepting 3/8 inch shank end mills in R8, ER collet, or side-lock toolholding systems.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators following standard shop safety procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before seating or removing the tool from the holder. Verify runout with a dial indicator after toolholder engagement to minimize premature edge wear. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the material being machined, and ensure the toolholder bore matches the 3/8 inch shank diameter exactly before tightening.
