The HERTEL E1039008 is a 4-flute square end mill designed for general-purpose milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. Built from M7 high speed steel and left uncoated, it runs at conventional speeds and offers reliable performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 0.125-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 0.375-inch shank, making it compatible with standard collet and end mill holders. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation, and the spiral flute geometry reduces cutting forces along the tool length. The 0.375-inch length of cut handles light-to-moderate depth passes typical of finish and semi-finish operations.
This end mill fits residential shop, production, and maintenance machining environments where tight tolerances in small-diameter cuts are required. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry into a workpiece, expanding its use to slotting, profiling, and pocket milling without a pre-drilled starter hole. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation match the standard spindle rotation of vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. The regular-length body suits setups where reach is not a limiting factor and rigidity is preferred.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tooling for standard 3/8-inch collet chucks and end mill holders used in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills accepting a 0.375-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with cutting tool setup. Secure the shank fully within the collet or tool holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting tooling. Do not exceed the tool manufacturers recommended speeds and feeds for M7 high speed steel in the material being cut.
