The HERTEL E1034132 is a square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from high speed steel, this single-end tool delivers reliable cutting performance across a broad range of machining tasks including slotting, peripheral milling, and step milling. The cutter features a 1.5-inch diameter with a 4-inch length of cut, giving machinists significant reach for deeper pocket and profile work. The 1.25-inch shank diameter provides solid tool holding in standard milling chucks and collet systems. At 6.5 inches overall length, it is suited for setups requiring extended reach without excessive overhang.
This end mill is appropriate for manual mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers operating at moderate cutting speeds typical of HSS tooling. It is commonly used in job shops, maintenance machining, and production environments where HSS is preferred over carbide for interrupted cuts, tough setups, or softer workpiece materials. The non-centercutting configuration means this tool is intended for peripheral and side milling rather than direct plunge entry. The uncoated finish keeps regrinding straightforward.
Designed as a standard square end mill for use in manual or CNC milling machines accepting a 1.25-inch shank. Compatible with ER and R8 collet systems and milling chucks sized for 1.25-inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard machine tool procedures. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, powered-down state before loading or removing the tool. Use a calibrated torque-appropriate collet or chuck tightened per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. This tool is not center-cutting — do not use for direct plunge entry; always ramp or helical-interpolate into the workpiece when starting a pocket.
