The HERTEL E1032906 is a single-end, square-profile end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Ground from M7 high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers consistent performance in slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling applications. The 6-flute geometry provides a higher feed-per-tooth capacity compared to standard 4-flute tooling, making it well suited for finishing passes where surface finish and dimensional accuracy matter. The 30-degree helix angle balances chip evacuation with cutting efficiency across a range of workpiece materials. Overall length is 4 inches with a 5/8-inch shank diameter for use in standard end mill holders and collet chucks.
This end mill is intended for use in manual knee mills, CNC machining centers, and bed mills running at appropriate surface footage for HSS tooling. It is a non-center-cutting design, meaning it is not suited for direct plunging; ramping or helical entry is required for pocket operations. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral fluting conform to standard spindle and toolholding conventions. The regular length designation makes it appropriate for setups where rigidity and chatter resistance are priorities over extended reach.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use end mill compatible with standard 5/8-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholding systems accepting a 5/8-inch straight shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or locked-out state before loading or removing the tool. Seat the shank to the recommended minimum engagement depth in the holder — typically no less than the shank diameter — and torque the set screw or collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the shank and flute lands for chips or damage before each use, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut.
