The HERTEL E103006201 is a single-end, square-profile end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metal fabrication and machine shop environments. Built from high speed steel (HSS), it features a 31/32-inch (0.9688 inches) cutting diameter and a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, giving it solid reach for slotting, peripheral milling, and profiling work. The 1-inch shank diameter provides firm tool-holding engagement in standard milling chucks and collets. With 2 flutes and a centercutting geometry, this end mill can plunge directly into workpiece material without a pre-drilled entry hole. It ships uncoated and is suited for use in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where HSS tooling is the preferred choice.
This end mill is a fit for manual mills, CNC machining centers, and knee mills used in job shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments. The centercutting design makes it versatile for plunge entry, ramping, and full-slot applications. The 3-1/2-inch overall length allows clearance for typical workpiece setups without excessive overhang. Machinists and toolroom technicians working in general metalworking, mold work, or fixture building will find this a standard workhorse tool for moderate-volume cuts in steel, aluminum, and similar materials.
Designed as a standard single-end square end mill for use in milling machines equipped with toolholders accepting a 1-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Power down and lock out the milling machine spindle before loading or changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth and confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut. Do not exceed the recommended length-of-cut range for the operation to avoid deflection or tool breakage.
