The HERTEL C430-1250-C1 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with a TiN coating, it delivers hardness and wear resistance suited to production environments. The tool measures 1/8 inch in diameter with a 1/2 inch length of cut and a 1-1/2 inch overall length. Four right-hand flutes with an integrated chipbreaker pattern break chips into manageable segments, reducing heat buildup and tool deflection during heavy roughing passes. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry into workpieces. This end mill is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians working on CNC mills and manual knee mills.
This end mill is suited for roughing operations where chip control is a priority. The chipbreaker geometry reduces chip recutting and lowers cutting forces compared to standard finishing geometries, making it a practical choice for slotting, pocketing, and peripheral roughing in metals and engineered materials. The 1/8 inch diameter and regular-length configuration make it appropriate for small-feature work and confined-clearance applications on CNC machining centers. The TiN coating extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials by reducing friction at the cutting edge.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use roughing end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting 1/8 inch collet or end mill holders.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down the spindle and confirm zero-energy state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware according to the machine tool manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before use and confirm runout with a dial indicator when precision is required.
