The HERTEL C.E11.1111 is an extra length twist drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling in metal, wood, and general-purpose materials. Built from high-speed steel with an oxide finish, it delivers durability and heat resistance under continuous use. The bit measures 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) in diameter, with a 12-inch flute length and an 18-inch overall length — significantly longer than standard jobber bits. The 118-degree split point promotes accurate starts and reduces walking on flat surfaces. Two flutes provide efficient chip evacuation during deep passes. This bit is suited for licensed tradespeople and machinists working on structural, mechanical, or fabrication applications where standard-length bits cannot reach.
The C.E11.1111 is used in residential and commercial trade applications where extended reach is required — such as drilling through thick structural members, deep assemblies, wall cavities, or stacked materials. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and electricians commonly rely on extra-length drill bits when routing through framing, mechanical rooms, or tight utility spaces where a standard bit would bottom out before completing the bore. The general-purpose grade makes it compatible with a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous base materials encountered in the field.
Designed as a general-purpose extra-length drill bit suitable for use in standard 3-jaw drill chucks and magnetic drill presses that accept 7/16-inch round-shank bits.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified tradespeople familiar with proper drilling technique for the material being worked. Secure the workpiece before drilling and ensure the chuck is fully tightened before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling through hard metals to reduce heat buildup and extend bit life. Wear proper eye protection and follow applicable OSHA and site safety requirements when operating rotary tools.
