The HERTEL C.E07.0754 is a cobalt aircraft extension drill bit designed for drilling in hard metals and tough alloys where standard-length bits cannot reach. Built to NAS 907 standards, this bit features a 135-degree split point for self-centering entry without a center punch, and a straw-finish cobalt construction that holds hardness at elevated cutting temperatures. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 19/64 inch (0.2969 inches decimal) and is compatible with standard drill chucks. A two-flute spiral design with a web-thinned, tapered web configuration promotes chip evacuation and reduces thrust. Licensed machinists, aircraft maintenance technicians, and metalworking professionals specify this bit for deep-hole drilling operations.
This bit is suited for aerospace maintenance, structural fabrication, and industrial metalworking applications where extended reach is required. The 12-inch overall length provides access to recessed bores and deep assemblies that standard jobber-length bits cannot address. The 3.0625-inch flute length handles material thicknesses typical in airframe and structural metalwork. Right-hand cutting direction follows conventional drill press and hand-drill operation. General-purpose tool performance classification makes it appropriate across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Designed as an OEM-style aircraft extension drill bit compatible with standard straight-cylindrical shank drill chucks in drill presses, hand drills, and right-angle drill adapters used in aerospace and industrial metalworking applications.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or aircraft maintenance technicians familiar with metalworking drill operations. Secure the workpiece before drilling and confirm chuck grip on the full cylindrical shank to prevent slippage under torque. Use cutting fluid appropriate for the base material to manage heat buildup, particularly when drilling stainless or high-nickel alloys. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or wear is observed.
