The HERTEL C.E06.0485 is a cobalt aircraft extension drill bit designed for drilling in tough materials including stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and hardened steels. Built to wire gauge size 11, the bit measures 0.1910 inch in decimal diameter and runs 6 inches in overall length. The 135-degree split point is self-centering, which eliminates the need for a center punch in most applications. A straw finish indicates the cobalt content and helps resist heat buildup during extended drilling cycles. Licensed HVAC techs, aircraft maintenance technicians, and industrial trades reach for this bit when material hardness demands more than standard high-speed steel.
This bit is suited for aircraft-grade aluminum, stainless steel, and structural alloys found in aerospace maintenance, sheet-metal fabrication, and industrial manufacturing environments. With a 2.3125-inch spiral flute length and a straight cylindrical shank measuring 0.1910 inch in diameter, it seats directly into standard drill chucks and right-angle drill attachments common in tight-access applications. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional drill presses and handheld power drills. The tapered web with web thinning reduces thrust force and improves chip evacuation in deep-hole work.
Designed as an OEM-specification aircraft extension drill bit conforming to NAS 907, compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and right-angle drill attachments used in aerospace, sheet-metal, and general industrial applications.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with drilling practices for hard materials. Secure the workpiece fully before drilling and confirm chuck fit with the 0.1910-inch straight shank before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling stainless steel or high-temperature alloys to extend bit life and maintain dimensional accuracy. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and retire the bit at the first sign of chipping or excessive wear.
