The HERTEL C.E05.0380 is a wire-gauge #25 aircraft extension drill bit engineered for deep-reach drilling applications in aerospace and industrial environments. Built from high-speed steel with an oxide finish, this bit features a 135-degree split point with web thinning that enables self-centering entry without a center punch. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.1495 inches in diameter, matching the 0.1495-inch decimal drill size. At 12 inches overall length with a 1.875-inch spiral flute, it delivers the extended reach needed to access recessed or hard-to-reach hole locations in assemblies and structural panels. Right-hand cutting direction and a two-flute tapered web configuration ensure clean chip evacuation during general-purpose drilling.
This bit is suited for aerospace maintenance, aircraft assembly, and general metalworking applications where standard-length bits cannot reach the workpiece. The extended 12-inch body makes it practical for drilling through deep sections, stacked materials, or within aircraft structures where clearance is limited. General-purpose tool performance rating makes it appropriate for technicians working across a range of materials including aluminum, mild steel, and similar alloys. It is sold individually and meets NAS 907 standards.
Designed as a general-purpose aircraft extension drill bit suitable for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks and pneumatic or electric hand drills used in aerospace maintenance and industrial fabrication applications.
Installation of this bit should be performed by qualified machinists, aircraft maintenance technicians, or industrial tradespeople. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the drill chuck before operation and verify chuck key is removed before powering the tool. Use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling ferrous materials to extend bit life and improve hole quality. Inspect the bit for wear or damage before each use and replace if the cutting edges are chipped or the flutes are clogged.
