The HERTEL C.E05.0295 is a No. 32 wire-gauge aircraft extension drill bit engineered for deep-reach drilling applications in tight or restricted spaces. Manufactured from high-speed steel with an oxide finish, it measures 12 inches in overall length with a 1.625-inch spiral flute. The 135-degree split point is self-centering and web-thinned, allowing it to start on curved or irregular surfaces without a center punch. Cutting direction is right-hand, and the straight cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks. This bit meets NAS 907 standards and is suited for general-purpose metalworking in aerospace, aviation maintenance, and industrial fabrication environments.
Aircraft extension drill bits like the C.E05.0295 are used by aviation mechanics, maintenance technicians, and industrial machinists when standard-length bits cannot reach the workpiece. The extended 12-inch body allows drilling through deep assemblies, structural panels, or obstructed access areas common in aircraft fuselage and airframe work. The No. 32 wire-gauge diameter (0.116 inches) is a common size for pilot holes, rivet holes, and precision clearance holes in sheet metal and light structural components.
Designed as a general-purpose aircraft extension drill bit for use in standard drill chucks accepting a 0.116-inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for metalworking, aviation maintenance, and industrial applications requiring a No. 32 wire-gauge bit.
Installation of this bit is performed by licensed aviation mechanics or qualified machinists following applicable maintenance and fabrication procedures. Secure the shank fully in the drill chuck before operation and verify chuck tightness to prevent bit slippage. When drilling into structural assemblies, follow the applicable aircraft maintenance manual or engineering order for hole sizing, edge distance, and inspection requirements. Wear appropriate eye protection and follow shop safety protocols when operating high-speed rotating tooling.
