The HERTEL C.E03.0992 is an aircraft extension drill bit designed for deep-reach drilling applications where a standard-length bit cannot access the worksite. Built from high-speed steel with an oxide finish, this bit measures 25/64 inch (0.3906 inch decimal) in diameter and runs 6 inches overall, giving tradespeople the extended reach needed in confined or recessed work areas. The 135-degree split point self-centers on contact, reducing walking and eliminating the need for a center punch on most materials. Web thinning further reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation during cutting.
This bit is suited for metal fabrication, mechanical assembly, aviation maintenance, and structural work where standard-length bits fall short. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks, and the two-flute spiral design handles right-hand cutting in steel, aluminum, and similar metals. General-purpose tool performance makes it a practical choice for HVAC technicians, pipefitters, electricians, and sheet-metal workers drilling through structural members, ductwork framing, or equipment enclosures in tight locations.
Designed as a general-purpose aircraft extension drill bit compatible with standard drill chucks accepting a 25/64 inch straight cylindrical shank.
This bit is installed and used by machinists, HVAC technicians, electricians, and sheet-metal tradespeople. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling to prevent rotation. Use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling through hardened steel to extend bit life and reduce heat buildup. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or dullness is observed.
