The HERTEL C.40W.0238 is a taper length twist drill bit machined from high-speed steel (HSS) with a black oxide finish. It carries a 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch) diameter, a standard 118-degree split point, and an overall length of 4.25 inches. The taper length body provides more reach than a jobber-length bit without sacrificing rigidity, making it well suited for drilling through thin stock, sheet metal, and structural steel where a standard-length bit falls short. The black oxide surface finish reduces friction and provides light corrosion resistance during service.
