The HERTEL C.402.1190 is a high speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose hole-making in metal, wood, and similar materials. It features a 118-degree standard point angle for reliable center-finding and clean entry on flat and curved workpieces. The oxide coating helps reduce friction and provides basic corrosion resistance during use. With an overall length of 143 millimeters and a flute length of 106 millimeters, this bit delivers the reach and chip evacuation needed for typical production and maintenance drilling tasks. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard three-jaw drill chucks. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and metal fabricators are the primary users.
This drill bit is suited for general-purpose drilling in light to medium-duty applications including fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, and production environments. It is appropriate for use in bench drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drill stations that accept straight-shank tooling. The 11.90 mm diameter, equivalent to 0.4685 inches, falls in the 10.00 to 12.50 mm size range and is commonly used for clearance holes, through-holes, and pre-tapping operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill bit compatible with any drill press, hand drill, or CNC drill unit equipped with a standard three-jaw chuck or collet system that accepts straight-cylindrical shanks in the 10.00 to 12.50 mm size range.
Secure the shank fully in the drill chuck before operation and verify the bit runs true before engaging the workpiece. Always wear appropriate eye protection and secure the workpiece with clamps or a vise - never hold by hand during drilling. Select a spindle speed appropriate to the workpiece material and bit diameter following standard machining feed-and-speed references. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and remove the bit from service if chipping or deformation is observed.
