The HERTEL C.402.1010 is a high speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose hole-making in a wide range of workpiece materials. It measures 10.10 mm (0.3976 inches) in diameter with a standard 118-degree point angle and an overall length of 133 mm (5.24 inches). The spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the oxide coating provides a modest layer of surface protection and helps reduce friction during cutting. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks. This bit is suited for machinists, toolroom technicians, maintenance mechanics, and fabricators working with drill presses, lathes, or hand-held power drills.
This jobber drill is intended for general-purpose drilling applications in metal, plastic, and similar materials where a standard point geometry is appropriate. The 10.10 mm diameter falls within the 10.00 mm to 12.50 mm size range, making it a commonly specified size in production and maintenance environments. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for use with conventional clockwise-rotating spindles found on most drill presses and hand drills. A flute length of 95 mm (3.74 inches) provides adequate chip clearance for most through-hole and blind-hole applications at this diameter.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill for use in any standard drill press, CNC drilling machine, or hand-held power drill equipped with a chuck that accepts a straight-cylindrical shank at 10.10 mm diameter.
Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a properly sized drill chuck before operation and confirm the chuck key is removed before starting the spindle. Power down and lock out the machine before changing or inspecting the bit. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve hole quality. Handle all cutting tools with care - inspect the cutting edges for chips or cracks before use and replace any damaged bit.
