The HERTEL C.401.0036 is a high speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in light-duty metalworking and general machining applications. It carries a 0.36 mm diameter (0.0142 decimal inch) with a standard 118-degree point angle and a bright, uncoated finish. The two-flute spiral configuration clears chips efficiently at this micro-diameter range. With an overall length of 19 mm and a straight-cylindrical shank, this bit seats securely in standard drill chucks and collets. It is suited for machinists, toolmakers, and production operators who need reliable performance in small-hole drilling operations.
This drill bit fits general-purpose drilling tasks across machine shop and production environments. At 0.36 mm, it is used primarily for pilot holes, printed circuit board work, small component fabrication, and precision fixture drilling. The right-hand cutting direction and spiral flute geometry are standard for conventional drill press and CNC spindle use. It is a single-piece unit sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 12 pieces per order. No coolant-through capability is required at this diameter and duty level.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill bit for use in standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held rotary tools equipped with a collet or chuck capable of holding a straight-cylindrical shank at 0.36 mm diameter.
Installation and use of micro-diameter drill bits should be performed by a qualified machinist or technician familiar with small-diameter tooling. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized collet or Jacobs-style chuck before running the spindle. Feed rates and spindle speeds must be set appropriately for the workpiece material and drill diameter to avoid bit breakage, which is common when excessive lateral force or feed pressure is applied at this diameter. Inspect the cutting edges under magnification before use and replace any bit showing chipping or dullness.
