The HERTEL C.401.0032 is a high speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in metal, plastic, and general-purpose materials. At 0.32 mm (0.0126 inch decimal equivalent) in diameter, this is a micro-size drill intended for applications requiring tight-tolerance, small-diameter holes. The 118-degree standard point angle provides reliable self-centering on entry. The bright, uncoated finish suits general-purpose drilling where coating is not required. Two spiral flutes clear chips efficiently during the cut. Licensed tradespeople and machinists working in tight-tolerance fabrication, instrument repair, or small-component drilling will reach for this bit regularly.
This jobber drill is suited for light-duty production and maintenance drilling in shops, toolrooms, and field service environments. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks on bench-top drill presses, CNC machines, and hand-held power tools. Its micro diameter makes it appropriate for PCB work, small fastener pilot holes, and precision metalworking tasks where larger bits would be too aggressive. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional drill press and hand-drill operation.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill for use in standard drill chucks accommodating straight-cylindrical shanks across drill presses, CNC drilling machines, and hand-held power tools within the 0.00 to 2.00 mm drill bit size range.
Installation is performed by machinists, toolroom technicians, or maintenance tradespeople using a standard drill chuck keyed or keyless to the appropriate size. Secure the shank fully in the chuck jaws before operation to prevent runout at this micro diameter. At 0.32 mm, feed pressure must be minimal and controlled to avoid bit breakage — use a drill press or CNC spindle rather than freehand drilling wherever possible. Inspect the cutting edges before each use, as micro drill bits are susceptible to chipping if previously overloaded.
