The HERTEL 91197558 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials where heat resistance and edge toughness are priorities. The 10 mm diameter cutting head features four right-hand flutes with a fine pitch profile, producing the characteristic scallop pattern that reduces cutting forces and chip load per tooth. Center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as standard peripheral milling. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this end mill on manual mills, CNC machining centers, and knee mills.
This roughing end mill suits job shop and production environments where efficient stock removal is needed before a finishing pass. The 45 mm length of cut provides adequate reach for moderate-depth pockets, slots, and profiling cuts on steel, alloy steel, and similar materials. The 10 mm shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, allowing use in standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style toolholders common in machine shop setups. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional and climb milling on typical vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed for use in standard 10 mm ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style toolholders on manual and CNC milling machines accepting 10 mm shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from its holder. Confirm the shank is fully seated to the recommended insertion depth for the toolholder type in use before tightening. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, particularly for tight-tolerance applications, and select appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material.
