The HERTEL 91196469 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, it delivers excellent wear resistance and heat tolerance under heavy cutting loads. The 1.25-inch diameter cutter features 6 fine-pitch flutes with a right-hand cutting and flute direction, producing a controlled chip-breaking action that reduces cutting forces and extends tool life. With a 2-inch length of cut and 4.5-inch overall length, this tool is suited for production milling, roughing passes, and slotting operations on milling machines and machining centers. It weighs 0.504 pounds.
This roughing end mill is used in machine shops, toolrooms, and manufacturing environments handling steel, alloy steel, stainless, and similar materials. The fine-pitch flute geometry makes it especially effective on CNC vertical and horizontal mills where chip evacuation and surface finish on roughing passes are priorities. The 1.25-inch shank diameter matches the cutter diameter, allowing direct collet or end-mill-holder mounting without adapter sleeves. It is not center-cutting, so it is not intended for plunge entry.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for CNC machining centers, knee mills, and horizontal mills accepting a 1.25-inch diameter end-mill holder, collet chuck, or Weldon-style holder.
This tool is installed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank fully into the holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the set screw or collet nut according to the holder manufacturer specifications. Always power down the spindle and confirm it has come to a complete stop before changing tooling. Because this tool is not center-cutting, do not program plunge moves — use ramping or helical interpolation entries instead.
