The HERTEL 91192799 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, the tool carries a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating that extends cutting-edge life and reduces friction during high-load passes. With a 1-1/2 inch mill diameter and six coarse-pitch flutes, this end mill is engineered to handle heavy stock removal efficiently. It is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute design and is not centercutting, making it suited for side-milling and peripheral roughing rather than plunge cutting. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and job shops install this type of tooling on vertical and horizontal milling machines and machining centers.
This end mill is built for roughing passes where speed and chip evacuation matter more than surface finish. The coarse pitch of the six flutes breaks chips aggressively and reduces chatter during heavy cuts. The 1-1/4 inch shank diameter provides a solid grip in standard end-mill holders, collet chucks, and milling arbors. Typical applications include roughing steel, stainless steel, and other tough ferrous alloys where cobalt-grade tooling outperforms standard high-speed steel. The TiN coating adds heat resistance, extending tool life in demanding production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style roughing end mill for use in vertical and horizontal milling machines and machining centers accepting a 1-1/4 inch shank end-mill holder or collet chuck.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tooling setup procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening set screws or collet nuts. Because this is a non-centercutting end mill, do not use it for direct plunge cuts into solid material.
