The HERTEL 91192674 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiN (titanium nitride), it delivers extended tool life in ferrous and hard alloy workpiece materials. The cutter measures 2 inches in diameter with a coarse-pitch, 8-flute geometry that breaks chips into smaller segments, reducing cutting forces and heat buildup during heavy roughing passes. A 1.25-inch shank diameter provides solid tool-holder engagement. This end mill is installed and run by machinists and CNC operators in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments.
This roughing end mill is suited for horizontal and vertical milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills where high-volume stock removal is required. The coarse pitch flute form handles interrupted cuts and deep axial depths of cut more efficiently than standard finishing geometries. It is not center-cutting, so it requires a pre-drilled or pre-bored entry point. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard spindle rotation. Typical applications include roughing steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and similar hard materials before a finishing pass.
Designed as an OEM-style roughing end mill for use in standard end mill holders and collet chucks accepting a 1.25-inch shank diameter on horizontal or vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tool-holding procedures. De-energize and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully in the holder to the recommended gauge-line depth and torque set screws or collet nuts per the tool-holder manufacturer specifications. Because this tool is not center-cutting, always enter the workpiece from a pre-existing feature or with a ramping strategy; do not plunge directly into solid material.
