The HERTEL 91192393 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal on milling machines and machining centers. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers strong heat resistance and edge retention when cutting ferrous metals, stainless steels, and other tough alloys. The coarse-pitch, 3-flute geometry produces a high chip load per tooth, allowing faster feed rates while keeping chip evacuation efficient. With a 2-inch cutting diameter, 0.75-inch length of cut, and a 3-inch overall length, this tool suits heavy roughing passes where stock removal rate takes priority over surface finish. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for cobalt tools used across a broad range of workpiece materials.
This end mill is intended for use in production and job-shop environments where roughing operations precede finish milling. It is well suited for face milling, slot roughing, and peripheral roughing cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The 0.75-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard ER, Weldon, and collet-style toolholders commonly found on vertical and horizontal milling setups. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it a direct fit for conventional CNC and manual milling spindles. Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.

Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the milling spindle is fully powered down and at rest before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the holder manufacturer, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the depth-of-cut or feed-rate parameters established during process planning for the specific workpiece material.
