The HERTEL 91192054 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in ferrous metals and high-strength alloys. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this tool delivers the heat and wear resistance required for heavy interrupted cuts and high-feed roughing passes. It features 8 flutes and a bright, uncoated finish, with a 2-inch mill diameter and 8-inch length of cut. The 11.75-inch overall length accommodates deep-pocket and long-reach milling applications. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in job shop, production, and toolroom environments.
This roughing end mill is suited for ferrous roughing operations on vertical mills, horizontal mills, and CNC machining centers. The 8-flute configuration provides high chip-load capacity and improved surface finish relative to lower-flute-count roughers. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling. The non-centercutting geometry means this tool is intended for side milling and slotting from an existing pocket, not direct plunge entry. Applications include roughing steel, stainless, and alloy workpieces where tool life under heat is a priority.
Designed as an OEM-style single-end roughing end mill for use in standard R8, CAT, BT, or HSK toolholders accepting a 2-inch straight shank, on vertical or horizontal milling machines and CNC machining centers.
This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators in collet chucks or end mill holders rated for a 2-inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully de-energized and locked out before changing tooling. Verify holder runout with a dial indicator before engaging a cut, as runout on a large-diameter rougher accelerates edge wear. Non-centercutting geometry requires a pre-drilled or pre-milled entry point — do not plunge directly into solid material.
