The HERTEL 91192013 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, it measures 1.75 inches in cutting diameter and delivers a 2-inch length of cut. The 6-flute, right-hand cutting geometry produces a coarse chip-breaking action that reduces chatter and heat buildup during heavy roughing passes. The 1.25-inch shank diameter and 4.5-inch overall length suit it for use in milling machines, machining centers, and manual knee mills across production and maintenance shop environments. A licensed machinist or toolroom operator is the typical end user.
This end mill is suited for roughing passes on ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials where M42 cobalt grade provides heat and wear resistance beyond standard M2 HSS. The non-centercutting design means it is intended for peripheral side milling and slot entry from a pre-drilled or pre-bored hole. Fixed-helix, right-hand flute direction provides consistent chip evacuation in standard climb or conventional milling setups. It is appropriate for both horizontal and vertical milling applications in job shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments requiring reliable stock removal before finish passes.
Designed for use in standard end mill holders or collet chucks accepting a 1.25-inch shank diameter on vertical or horizontal milling machines and machining centers.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the drawbar or retention mechanism is engaged before mounting or removing the tool. Use a properly sized end mill holder or collet rated for the 1.25-inch shank and confirm runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and machine horsepower.
