The HERTEL 89319313 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining applications. With a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) cutting diameter and a 5/8 inch length of cut, this single-end tool removes material efficiently in both ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The AlTiN coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life under high-speed cutting conditions. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation, and the centercutting geometry allows plunge cutting as well as peripheral and slot milling. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments will find this end mill suited to general-purpose and finish milling work.
This end mill is appropriate for use on vertical machining centers, CNC knee mills, and manual milling machines where a 7/16 inch shank diameter is compatible with the spindle or collet system in use. Its 2-1/2 inch overall length keeps the tool rigid in the spindle during light to medium cuts. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard right-hand spindle rotation. Micrograin carbide substrate provides the toughness and wear resistance needed for consistent performance across production runs.
Designed as a standard 7/16 inch shank square end mill compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders sized for 7/16 inch shank diameter on vertical or horizontal milling machines and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholding guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is placed in an e-stop or powered-down state before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank to the minimum insertion depth recommended for the holder type to maintain runout accuracy and prevent pull-out under cutting loads. Do not exceed the tool's rated speed and feed parameters for the workpiece material and coating in use.
