The HERTEL 84579622 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose holemaking in metal, wood, and composite materials. The bit measures 7/64 inch (0.1094 inch decimal) in diameter with a 2-5/8 inch overall length and a 1-1/2 inch flute length. It is manufactured from high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating to extend tool life and reduce friction during cutting. The 135-degree split point geometry provides self-centering action and reduces walking on entry, making it a reliable choice for production drilling and field work alike. A web-thinned, tapered web construction further reduces thrust requirements at the cutting edge.
This drill bit is suited for machinists, maintenance technicians, fabricators, and trade professionals who need a dependable jobber-series bit for repetitive drilling operations. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard three-jaw drill chucks across a wide range of corded and cordless power tools. Its 7/64 inch size falls within the 0.1000 to 0.1500 inch decimal range, making it appropriate for pilot holes, clearance holes, and general through-hole work in light to medium-duty applications. The right-hand spiral flute design efficiently evacuates chips and is compatible with standard right-hand drill operation.
Designed as a jobber-series replacement or stock bit for use in standard three-jaw drill chucks accepting a 7/64 inch straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with corded drill presses, hand drills, and cordless drivers configured for right-hand rotation.
Install the shank fully into the drill chuck and tighten securely before operation. Ensure the drill is set to right-hand (forward) rotation before engaging the workpiece. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling ferrous metals to preserve coating life and bit geometry. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace when performance degrades to avoid workpiece damage.
