The HERTEL 84511849 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for high-material-removal-rate milling operations in ferrous and hard metals. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiCN coating, it delivers increased hardness and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The cutter measures 5/8 inch in diameter with a 1-5/8 inch length of cut and a 3-3/4 inch overall length. Four right-hand flutes with a roughing profile break chips aggressively, reducing heat buildup and cutting forces during roughing passes. Machinists and toolroom operators use this style of end mill when removing large amounts of stock before a finishing pass.
