The HERTEL 84511625 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiN coating, it delivers the hardness and wear resistance needed for cutting ferrous metals and harder alloys. The coarse-pitch flute geometry promotes chip evacuation and reduces vibration during heavy cuts. With a 3/16-inch mill diameter, 4 flutes, and a right-hand cutting direction, this tool is suited for slotting and peripheral milling where rapid stock removal is the priority. It is installed in standard CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines.
This end mill is used in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments handling ferrous and non-ferrous materials that benefit from coarse-pitch roughing geometry. The 3/16-inch diameter and 1/2-inch length of cut make it appropriate for shallow roughing passes in tight pockets or detailed features. The 3/8-inch shank accommodates standard collets and end mill holders common in both manual and CNC setups. It is a single-end tool and is not center-cutting, so it requires a pre-drilled or pre-milled entry point when used for plunge operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling choice for milling applications requiring a 3/16-inch diameter single-end roughing end mill with a 3/8-inch shank in compatible collet systems.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention hardware per the machine tool manufacturer specifications. Because this end mill is not center-cutting, do not use it for direct plunge entry into solid material.
