The HERTEL 83246082 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit ground to a 118-degree standard point angle with web thinning for improved penetration and reduced thrust. At 0.0350 inches in diameter (No. 65 wire size), this bit is suited for precision small-hole drilling in tight-tolerance applications. The bright uncoated finish and C2 carbide grade make it a general-purpose choice where coating is not required. It runs a right-hand spiral flute and a straight cylindrical shank, fitting standard drill chucks without adapters. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians reach for this size when drilling small pilot holes, instrument panels, or circuit-board hardware.
This drill bit is designed for use in light-duty CNC drilling, drill press, and hand-drill applications. It is particularly well matched to aluminum and other non-ferrous workpiece materials, where carbide substrate provides rigidity and edge retention that high-speed steel cannot match at this diameter. The 0.3750-inch flute length accommodates shallow-hole work, and the 1.125-inch overall length fits compact toolholders and small spindles commonly found in production and repair environments.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose jobber drill for use in standard drill chucks, collets, and toolholders accepting a 0.0350-inch straight shank. Primary workpiece compatibility is aluminum and non-ferrous materials per manufacturer specification.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or technicians familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Carbide is brittle at this diameter — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts, or excessive feed rates that can cause breakage. Secure the workpiece firmly and verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before use. Always wear appropriate eye protection when operating drilling equipment.
