The HERTEL 83240705 is a reduced shank cobalt drill bit designed for demanding metalworking applications where standard HSS tooling falls short. The bit features a 1-7/32 inch (1.2188 inch decimal) cutting diameter with a reduced 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank, allowing it to run in standard half-inch chucks despite its large cutting diameter. A 135-degree notched point angle reduces thrust and self-centers on entry without a center punch. The titanium nitride (TiN) coating extends surface hardness and tool life in abrasive materials. Overall length is 6 inches with a 3 inch flute length. Right-hand cut with a regular spiral flute geometry.
