The HERTEL 83240663 is a reduced shank cobalt drill bit designed for drilling into hardened stainless steel, heat treated alloy, and high temperature alloy. It features a 1-3/8 inch cutting diameter with a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank, allowing it to fit standard 1/2 inch chucks despite its large cutting diameter. The 135-degree notched split point reduces walking on entry and requires less thrust compared to conventional 118-degree points. A titanium nitride (TiN) coating increases surface hardness and extends tool life in abrasive materials. This bit is intended for professional machinists, pipefitters, HVAC fabricators, and metalworkers who regularly bore large-diameter holes in tough alloys.
This drill bit is suited for general-purpose production and maintenance drilling in ferrous metals, including hardened stainless steel and heat treated alloy stock.
