The HERTEL 79892717 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit with a 23/64 inch (0.3594 inch decimal) diameter and a 118-degree standard point angle. Built from C2-grade solid carbide with a bright finish coating, this bit delivers the hardness and wear resistance required for demanding production drilling applications. It features a regular spiral flute, web-thinned and tapered web configuration for reduced thrust, and a straight-cylindrical shank. Overall length is 4.25 inches with a flute length of 2.5 inches. The right-hand cutting direction and 2-flute design suit a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This jobber-length drill bit is intended for use in machine shop environments, maintenance and repair operations, and production settings where consistent hole quality and tool life are critical. It fits standard drill chucks and CNC machining centers that accept a straight-cylindrical shank in the 23/64 inch diameter range. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and metalworking professionals select this bit for applications requiring tight diameter tolerance of -0.0005 to 0.0000 inch. It is sold individually and is appropriate wherever a high-performance carbide jobber drill is specified.
Designed as a direct-fit jobber-length drill bit for any drill chuck or collet system that accepts a 23/64 inch straight-cylindrical shank in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to side loading. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; apply cutting fluid externally when required by the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use, and never use a carbide drill bit in a hammer or impact-style drill driver.
