The HERTEL 79892329 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding materials. Built to a 118-degree standard point angle with web thinning for improved penetration, this bit cuts right-hand with a regular spiral flute pattern. The bright coating preserves the carbide substrate without adding dimensional variance. At 2.75 inches overall length with a 1.625-inch flute length, it fits standard drill chucks via its straight-cylindrical shank. The C2 material grade and high-performance classification make it suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, composites, and hard plastics encountered in precision machining and fabrication work.
This bit is used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power drills where tight hole tolerances are required. The 3/16-inch diameter falls in the 0.1500 to 0.2000 decimal inch size range, making it a common choice for tapping prep, through-holes, and clearance drilling in sheet metal, structural steel, aluminum, and similar materials. The tapered web configuration reduces thrust load at the cutting edge, which is useful in harder workpiece materials. Machinists, tool-and-die techs, and fabricators working in industrial and commercial shops are the primary users.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement or stock drill bit for standard 3/16-inch diameter drilling applications across CNC machines, drill presses, and rotary power tools accepting straight-cylindrical shanks.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by machinists or qualified tradespeople familiar with proper drill press or CNC setup procedures. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify concentricity before operation. Ensure the workpiece is clamped or fixtured to prevent movement during the cut. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate appropriate to the workpiece material and bit diameter.
