The HERTEL 79892063 is a wire gauge No. 34 jobber length drill bit ground from solid carbide and finished with a bright coating. It produces a 0.1110-inch diameter hole with a standard 118-degree split point that self-centers and reduces walking on entry. The two-flute spiral design with regular helix and web-thinned, tapered web evacuates chips efficiently and lowers thrust force in harder workpiece materials. Overall length is 2.25 inches with a 1.25-inch flute length and a straight cylindrical shank diameter of 0.1110 inches. Diameter tolerance is held to -0.0005 to 0.0000 inches, making it suited for close-tolerance work in metal fabrication, toolroom, and maintenance machining applications.
This bit is intended for drilling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites where solid carbide rigidity is required. The C2 carbide grade and high-performance designation make it appropriate for production drilling on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines where consistent hole quality and tool life are priorities. It runs without coolant-through capability, so external coolant or dry cutting technique applies depending on material.
Designed as a direct-fit jobber length drill bit for use in any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.1110-inch straight cylindrical shank across CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held drilling equipment.
A qualified machinist or maintenance technician should install and operate this bit. Secure the shank fully in a keyed or keyless chuck and verify runout before production drilling. Solid carbide is brittle compared to high-speed steel; avoid lateral loading, interrupted cuts at high feed rates, or flexing the spindle, as these conditions can cause chipping or fracture. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer feed-and-speed guidelines for carbide tooling in the workpiece material being drilled.
