The HERTEL 79890133 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance machining applications. With a 3/64 inch (0.0469 inch decimal) diameter and a diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to 0.0002 inches, this reamer delivers consistent, accurate bore sizing in small-diameter work. It features a straight flute geometry, a straight cylindrical shank for secure chuck mounting, and a right-hand cutting direction. At 1-1/2 inches overall length with a 3/8 inch flute length, this tool is built for shallow-bore finishing passes where dimensional control is critical. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary users.
This chucking reamer is suited for small-bore finish reaming in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where tight diameter tolerances are required. The bright uncoated solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses across job shop and production environments. Its compact overall length and small diameter make it well-suited for precision instrument components, hydraulic fittings, and similar small-part work requiring controlled bore geometry. The 4-flute design supports a stable cutting action during reaming passes.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in any machine tool equipped with a drill chuck or collet capable of accepting a straight cylindrical shank in the 3/64 inch diameter class.
Chucking reamers are installed and serviced by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is securely seated in the chuck or collet before beginning any reaming operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain bore finish quality. Do not use a chucking reamer to remove excessive stock — pre-drill or bore the hole to within the recommended allowance before reaming.
