The HERTEL 79889044 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. With a nominal diameter of 0.072 inches and a diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to 0.0002 inches, it delivers tight, repeatable bore sizing on production and toolroom work. The 4-flute straight configuration and bright uncoated finish make it well suited for use in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where dimensional accuracy is critical. The straight cylindrical shank allows direct mounting in standard drill chucks or collet holders on mills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers. Overall length is 1.75 inches with a 0.5-inch flute length, keeping the tool compact for shallow reaming operations.
This chucking reamer is intended for precision finishing passes where a drilled or bored hole needs to be brought to close tolerance. It is commonly used in job shops, tool and die operations, and production machining environments. The 0.072-inch diameter places it in the small-bore range, making it appropriate for hydraulic fittings, instrument components, pin bores, and similar fine-tolerance work. A qualified machinist should power down and lock out the spindle before installing or removing the reamer from the chuck or collet.
