The HERTEL 79888962 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machine shop and production environments. With a reamer diameter of 0.0605 inches and a tight tolerance of 0.0000 to 0.0002 inches, this tool delivers accurate, repeatable bore sizing in small-diameter applications. The straight flute geometry and bright uncoated finish make it well suited for use in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is installed in a standard drill press, CNC machining center, or manual mill using a collet or chuck that accepts a straight cylindrical shank. At 0.05 pounds, this compact tool is lightweight and easy to handle.
This chucking reamer is intended for precision finishing operations where tight hole tolerances are required. The 0.0605-inch diameter places it in the small-diameter range, appropriate for instrument components, medical device parts, small-bore hydraulic fittings, or other close-tolerance work. The 4-flute straight design provides stable cutting action and a clean surface finish on through-holes and blind holes in production and job-shop settings. The 3/8-inch flute length and 1-1/2-inch overall length suit shallow to moderate depth holes in standard workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style precision chucking reamer for use in standard collet chucks and drill press or machining center setups that accept a straight cylindrical shank in the small-diameter range.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the straight shank firmly in a precision collet or drill chuck before operation, and verify runout is within acceptable limits prior to cutting. Always apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material and operate at the correct speed and feed for solid carbide tooling. Inspect the reamer for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide tooling is brittle and should not be forced through an undersized or misaligned bore.
