The HERTEL 79888756 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance applications. Built with a straight flute geometry and a straight cylindrical shank, this reamer holds a diameter of 0.0365 inches with a tolerance of 0.0000 to 0.0002 inches, making it suited for work requiring consistent bore sizing. The bright, uncoated carbide construction provides rigidity and wear resistance when reaming small-diameter holes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With an overall length of 1.5 inches and a flute length of 0.25 inches, it fits compact workholding setups on manual or CNC machines. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this reamer as a finishing step after drilling to achieve precise final diameters.
This reamer is used in precision machining environments including tool rooms, job shops, and production lines where small-bore hole finishing is required. The 0.0365 inch diameter places it in the micro-reamer range, appropriate for instrument components, medical device parts, watch components, and other precision assemblies that require extremely tight bore tolerances. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional CNC and manual drill press or lathe setups. Four flutes provide balanced cutting action and a smooth surface finish in the reamed bore.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill chucks, ER collets, and similar straight-shank workholding on CNC machining centers, manual mills, drill presses, and lathes requiring a 0.0365 inch finished bore diameter.
This reamer is installed by a machinist or tool-and-die technician into a suitable straight-shank collet or drill chuck. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped before changing tooling. Pre-drill the hole close to final diameter before reaming to avoid overloading the flutes on this small-diameter tool. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and achieve the intended surface finish.
