It features a 1-1/64 inch (1.0156 inch decimal) cutting diameter paired with a 1/2 inch Weldon flat shank, allowing it to seat securely in Weldon-style tool holders. The bit is ground from high-speed steel with an oxide finish that provides basic lubricity and corrosion resistance during operation. A standard 118-degree point angle suits general-purpose hole-making in mild steel, aluminum, plastics, and similar workpiece materials. The 3-flute Weldon shank design prevents slipping under torque, making this bit well suited for drill press and milling machine setups where positive drive is required.
