The HERTEL 75987834 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive stock removal in metalworking applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with titanium carbonitride (TiCN), it handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials with extended tool life. The 1.5-inch cutting diameter pairs with a coarse-pitch, 3-flute geometry that clears chips efficiently and reduces heat buildup during heavy cuts. With a 2-inch length of cut and 1.25-inch shank diameter, this end mill fits standard milling chucks and collet holders used in production and job-shop environments. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators are the typical end users.
This roughing end mill is suited for milling operations that require rapid material removal before finishing passes. The coarse-pitch flute design breaks chips into smaller segments, reducing cutting forces on the spindle and workpiece. It is appropriate for use in vertical and horizontal milling machines as well as CNC machining centers. Applications include slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in steel, stainless steel, and similar alloys. The 4.5-inch overall length provides adequate reach for most standard setups without compromising rigidity.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard roughing end mill for milling chucks, side-lock holders, and collet systems accepting a 1.25-inch shank diameter. No specific machine model compatibility was provided by the manufacturer for this part.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine power is off before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Confirm proper shank engagement depth per the tool holder manufacturer guidelines before tightening. Inspect the TiCN coating and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as a damaged edge increases cutting forces and reduces workpiece quality.
