The HERTEL 750785 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication, toolroom work, and general machining applications. The cutter measures 0.2813 inches (9/32 inch) in diameter with a 0.75-inch length of cut and a 5/16-inch shank diameter. Overall length is 2.5 inches. The three-flute geometry provides a balance between chip evacuation and cutting stability. A 30-degree helix angle and micrograin carbide substrate support consistent performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The TiN (titanium nitride) coating adds surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge. This tool is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into a workpiece without a pre-drilled hole.
The HERTEL 750785 suits milling operations in job shops, tool and die environments, and production machining cells. Its compact diameter makes it well suited for slot milling, profile milling, and finish passes in tight geometries. The right-hand cutting direction and standard shank diameter fit the majority of collet chucks and end mill holders used on vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. This end mill is sold individually and is intended for use by machinists and toolroom technicians working with CNC or manual milling equipment.
Designed as a standard 5/16-inch shank square end mill compatible with collet chucks, ER collet systems, and end mill holders accepting 5/16-inch shank tooling on vertical machining centers and knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank to the recommended engagement depth specified by the holder manufacturer and torque set screws or collet nuts per the toolholder specification. Verify runout with a test indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on small-diameter carbide tooling.
