The HERTEL 750703 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built with a 3/8-inch diameter and a 1-3/4-inch length of cut, this two-flute tool delivers clean, accurate profiles in a wide range of workpiece materials. The 30-degree spiral helix and right-hand cutting geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. A titanium nitride (TiN) finish increases surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in production environments. With a 4-inch overall length and a 3/8-inch shank diameter, the 750703 fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders used on vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC routers.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and plunging operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Its centercutting design allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole, which expands its usefulness on both manual and CNC equipment. Typical installers are machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance departments. The 1-3/4-inch length of cut falls within the 1.5-to-2.0-inch cut range classification, giving operators flexibility across common material thicknesses without excessive tool overhang.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling option for machines accepting a 3/8-inch straight shank end mill held in standard collet chucks, end mill holders, or set-screw adapters.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque set screws or collet nuts to the tool holder specification before engaging the spindle. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before each use. Consult the machine manufacturer and cutting tool data for appropriate speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters for the target workpiece material.
