The HERTEL 750623 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and other hard materials. The cutter measures 7/32 inch (0.2188 inches) in diameter with a 1/2 inch length of cut and a 2 inch overall length. A 30-degree helix angle and four right-hand spiral flutes combine to deliver efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The micrograin carbide substrate provides rigidity and wear resistance. A Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating adds surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge, extending tool life in high-speed applications. This is a single-end, centercutting tool suitable for plunge, slot, and profile milling.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills where tight tolerances and clean finishes are required. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and tool holders common in light-duty to mid-range spindles. The centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pilot hole, making it practical for die work, mold cavities, and contour milling on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. It is typically installed and used by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators.
Designed as a standard single-end square end mill with a 1/4 inch shank, compatible with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and similar tool holding systems sized for 1/4 inch shank tooling on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. The shank should be inserted to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet or tool holder and torqued per the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout after installation using a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
