The HERTEL 750570 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) cutting diameter and a 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry, it delivers clean, accurate cuts at small-diameter scales. The TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction, extending tool life in demanding cutting environments. At stub length with a 1/8 inch length of cut and 1-1/2 inch overall length, this end mill offers enhanced rigidity, minimizing deflection when working with tight tolerances. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this configuration for detailed profiling, slotting, and side milling in CNC and manual mill setups.
This end mill is suited for precision machining applications where small-diameter tooling is required, including mold work, die cutting, electronics component machining, and intricate profiling on CNC machining centers or knee mills. The micrograin carbide substrate supports high-speed operation and maintains edge integrity under elevated cutting temperatures. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry, adding versatility to standard peripheral milling tasks. The stub length designation makes it especially well-suited for applications requiring maximum rigidity with minimal stick-out.
Designed as a standard shank square end mill compatible with CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter collet or tool holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully and evenly in a collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth to prevent pullout under load. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts, as runout is especially critical at this small diameter where deflection tolerances are tight.
