The HERTEL 750511 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length, this tool falls into the extra-long category, giving machinists access to deeper pockets and shoulders where standard-length tools cannot reach. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the uncoated micrograin carbide substrate delivers consistent edge retention in general-purpose and finishing applications. Two flutes provide a balance of chip clearance and cutting edge strength. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical machining centers, CNC milling machines, and manual knee mills where a 3/8 inch shank can be held in a collet chuck or end mill holder. The extra-long overall length of 4 inches makes it appropriate for deep-cavity work, tall-workpiece profiling, and applications requiring extended reach beyond standard tooling. The centercutting geometry allows plunge cutting operations in addition to peripheral and slot milling. Right-hand cut configuration is standard for conventional spindle rotation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for machines accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter in standard collet or end mill holder systems.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the minimum grip length before torquing the retention nut. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on carbide tooling.
