The HERTEL 750505 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 3-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle for efficient chip evacuation. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in high-speed and dry machining environments. This is a centercutting tool, allowing it to plunge directly into workpieces. The 5/8 inch shank diameter and 3-1/2 inch overall length suit standard ER and side-lock toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this tool for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations.
This end mill is suited for shops running ferrous metals, alloys, and hardened steels where a robust, heat-resistant coating is required. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher cutting speeds and feeds compared to standard carbide grades. The right-hand cut orientation and 30-degree fixed helix make it a reliable choice for general-purpose milling on vertical machining centers. No chipbreaker geometry is present, keeping the cutting edge geometry consistent for finish and semi-finish passes.
Designed as a standard-shank replacement or direct-purchase solid carbide square end mill for use in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and similar equipment accepting 5/8 inch straight-shank toolholders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for toolholder torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended engagement depth to minimize runout and prevent pullout under load. Verify tool projection and reach before beginning a cut, especially in slotting operations where the length of cut is near its maximum range.
