The HERTEL 750487 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in milling operations. With a 0.125 inch cutting diameter and a 0.750 inch length of cut, this two-flute tool delivers sharp, accurate results in applications where tight tolerances and clean finishes are required. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, making it well suited for both slotting and profiling passes. The uncoated micrograin carbide construction provides excellent edge retention and dimensional stability across a range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators rely on this style of end mill for small-diameter work where rigidity and accuracy are critical.
This end mill is used in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composite materials. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, expanding its usefulness in die work, mold cavities, and contour finishing. The 0.125 inch shank diameter and 2.0 inch overall length make it appropriate for close-clearance setups and small-footprint fixturing.
Designed as a standard-shank solid carbide square end mill for use in collet chucks, ER-style toolholders, and precision end mill holders accepting a 0.125 inch shank diameter.
This tool should be installed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with proper toolholder runout specifications and cutting parameter selection. Verify that the collet or toolholder is clean and free of chips before seating the shank, and confirm full shank engagement before tightening. At small diameters, feed rates and spindle speeds must be calculated carefully to avoid tool deflection or breakage. Always bring the spindle to a full stop before measuring, inspecting, or removing the tool.
