The HERTEL 750481 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and engineering-grade plastic materials. It features a 7/32 inch (0.2188 inch) cutting diameter with a 1 inch length of cut and a 1/4 inch shank diameter, giving it a compact, rigid profile suited for tight-tolerance work. The 4-flute geometry with a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a stable cutting edge. At 2-1/2 inches overall length, this is a standard regular-length end mill that balances reach with stiffness. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for high-speed machining without coating. Centercutting capability allows both plunge and ramping entry paths.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and toolroom applications where a small-diameter, high-precision cutter is required. The right-hand cut with right-hand flute configuration is the most common setup for standard spindle rotation. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, and side milling in ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. The uncoated micrograin carbide construction is well suited for aluminum, brass, and mild steels where a bare substrate performs reliably without coating buildup concerns.
Designed as a standard straight-shank solid carbide square end mill compatible with 1/4 inch collets, ER collet chucks, and end mill holders used on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down the spindle and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the minimum grip depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer — under-insertion increases runout and risk of pullout. Inspect the cutting edges under magnification before use; carbide end mills are brittle and can chip during handling.
