The HERTEL 750451 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 0.125 inch (1/8 inch) cutting diameter with a 1 inch length of cut and a 3 inch overall length, placing it in the extra-long category for extended-reach applications. The 4-flute, spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. A TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating adds surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous cutting applications. This end mill is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
The HERTEL 750451 is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in CNC machining centers and manual mills. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. The micrograin carbide substrate supports use in harder workpiece materials where high-speed steel tooling would wear prematurely. The extra-long length of cut range of 1.0 to 1.25 inches makes it practical for deeper cavity work and mold-and-die applications where standard-length end mills cannot reach.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 1/8 inch collet or ER-style toolholders requiring a 0.125 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists using appropriate collet chucks or end mill holders rated for the 0.125 inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe lockout state before changing tooling. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after seating to minimize premature tool wear. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier recommendations for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material.
